SIM Factor will build an Examination Center for the Office of Rail Transport

We would like to announce that SIM FACTOR (as the leader of the consortium, together with New Solutions Factor) won the largest public tender in Poland for the supply of three train simulators, simulation software, a set of virtual rail routes and the adaptation of premises for the Examination and Monitoring Center of Train Drivers. The three full-motion simulators will use universal desktops and cabins, with the option to activate alternate vehicles characteristics, like: ES64U4, TRAXX, E6ACTa, VECTRON, 22WE, 31WE, 36WE, FLIRT 3, or ED250. One of the three simulators will reproduce a railway vehicle with a 360 ° field of view, designed to test candidates for train drivers with a category “A” train driver’s certificate. Each of the simulators will consist of a simulator station, an examiner station and simulation software. Two simulators will be able to test drivers in driving trains with a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

Simulation software will virtualise 54 sections of railway lines, including: 50 managed by PKP PLK, as well as two sections of a broad-gauge line managed by PKP LHS and one section of railway lines managed by PKP SKM and Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway. The total length of the simulated rail routes will be 5277.937 km.

The project will be implemented in the years 2021-2022, the contract value is PLN 13,584,538.20 gross.
