Mobilny simulator for Deutsche Bahn Cargo Polska ready!

In December 2018, SIM FACTOR concluded with Deutsche Bahn Cargo Polska S.A. contract for the supply of a full-range locomotive simulator installed in a specialized mobile semi-trailer. Thus, DB Cargo Polska will be one of the first rail freight carriers, which at the end of the first quarter of 2019 will train its staff using a modern device.

The contract includes the delivery of a complete simulation position on a mobile platform, an instructor position and a mobile semi-trailer. In the ordered version, the simulator will offer the possibility of conducting trainings on a Siemens Vectron locomotive, with the possibility of extension to other types of machines. The device is built on a semi-trailer of a truck adapted to be operated by a tractor unit (colloquially “TIR”). Thanks to the unique construction of the semi-trailer, equipped with a partially extendable body, it is possible to place a full immersion cabin on a 6DOF mobile platform while traveling on public roads without additional permits. The applied solution will enable DB Cargo Polska to conduct trainings anywhere in Poland. The semi-trailer will be equipped with systems enabling its autonomous operation, i.e. power generator, air conditioning systems, parking heater and social zone.

This is the first commercial mobile, full-range electric locomotive simulator operating at a national freight carrier. Thanks to the entire staff of SIM FACTOR, it was our fastest completed project and one of the most demanding.
